At this time of the year, many food pantries find themselves with empty shelves while the requests for food are still great. In response, the Diocese of Camden is organizing a one-day food drive called faithFULL which hopes to collect canned food items for the hungry in the six-county South Jersey area.
On Sunday, Feb. 23 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., Bishop Dennis Sullivan has asked every parish and school in the diocese to bring canned food items to the Food Bank of South Jersey, 1501 John Tipton Blvd., Pennsauken; and the Community FoodBank of New Jersey, 6735 Black Horse Pike, Egg Harbor Township.
This drive will help these organizations as well as Catholic Charities feed those in need at a time when food banks and pantries are traditionally low on food.
From now until Feb. 22 food items such as canned tuna fish, beans, fruit, soup, chili, etc. as well as peanut butter can be dropped off at any parish in the Diocese of Camden.
