
Father Richard J. Hadyka, 81, a retired priest of the Diocese of Camden, died April 15.
Born Oct. 28, 1940, in Bayonne, his attended Mount Saint Mary’s Seminary in Emmitsburg, Md., before being ordained a priest May 20, 1967, at Camden’s Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.
Before his retirement in 2009, he had most recently served as pastor of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish in Wildwood Crest, beginning there in 2003.
Father Hadyka also served as parochial vicar of Maris Stella Parish, Avalon; Immaculate Heart of Mary, Woodlynne; Saint Mary, Salem; Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton, Absecon; Saint Cecilia, Pennsauken; Resurrection, Marmora, and Saint Raymond, Villas.
He is predeceased by his parents Theodore and Agnes, and three brothers, Theodore, Stanley and Joseph. He is survived by many nieces and nephews and was a proud great uncle.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. April 21 at the Church of the Resurrection/Saint Maximilian Kolbe Parish, 200 Tuckahoe Road, Marmora. Viewings will be held 6-8 p.m. April 20 and 9:30 a.m. April 21 at the church. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Mays Landing.
