Saint John of God Community Services will hold its first fundraiser cocktail party, Hope With Hospitality, on Thursday, Nov. 3 at Philadelphia’s Ballroom at the Ben.
Since 1965, the nonprofit, located in Westville Grove, has provided educational, therapeutic and vocational programs for individuals with disabilities, and grant-funded job services for people with barriers to employment.
The Nov. 3 fundraiser will present the Damien O’Shea Hospitality Award to Grace Romeo, who has spent nearly 50 years helping those with special needs receive the care vital for them to reach their fullest potential.
Romeo has worked as an ambassador between school districts and Saint John of God, and as a case manager for parents of special needs children. Recently, she was elected president of the Saint John of God Community Services Board of Directors.
The evening will include William’s Live Art Experience by nationally known artist, William Butler, a live auction of the completed painting,
A nationally known artist working out of Camden, Butler creates live and studio art, bringing more than 20 years of experience as an artist and graphic designer to each painting.
Williams recently was tapped to create a painting for the city of Camden, which was signed by President Barack Obama.
The schedule for the fundraiser is:
7 p.m.: Cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, food stations, silent auction
8 p.m.: Damien O’Shea Hospitality Award with Grace Romeo; William’s Live Art Experience
9:30 p.m.: Live Auction; Completed Painting
