Fallon, United States Navy (retired), was the commencement speaker for the Class of 2013 of St. Peter Elementary School in Merchantville, and addressed the graduating 8th graders June 9 during the ceremony in St. Peter Church; Admiral Fallon, a 1959 graduate of St. Peter School, retired from the U.S. Navy in 2008 after a distinguished 40-year career. He had led U.S. and Allied forces in eight separate commands and has played a leadership role in military and diplomatic matters at the highest levels of the U.S. government. He served as Vice Chief of the U.S. Navy during September 11, 2001, and head of U.S. Central Command during the Iraq War.
