Bishop Dennis Sullivan celebrated the 6 p.m. Mass on Christmas Eve with parishioners of Saint Charles Borromeo in Sicklerville.
During his homily, Bishop Sullivan noted that Jesus could have come to Earth in many different forms, but he chose to come like “one of us, born to a mother, resting in a humble manger, as defenseless as any newborn. God’s gift of peace wearing the same skin as any of us, who would one day offer himself for all of us.”
Concelebrating the Mass was Father Peter M. Joyce, parish pastor, with Deacon Charles Dillin and Father Joshua Nevitt, the Bishop’s priest-secretary, assisting.
