Sarah Tyron portrays Veronica during the Living Stations of the Cross, held Good Friday evening at Christ the Redeemer Parish, Assumption Church, Atco. In its 32nd year, the elaborate production features a reconstructed Jerusalem built on a ballfield on the parish grounds. The cast includes several dozen people, and even more make up the crew that work behind the scenes. Legend says Veronica wiped the blood and sweat from Christ’s face with her veil when he was on the road to Calvary, and the image of his face remained on the cloth. The event is commemorated by the sixth station of the Stations of the Cross.
