The Annual Men’s Retreat at Sacred Heart Church in Camden will highlight the role of men in the current age on Oct. 18, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Pillars of Gentle Strength is the theme of the event, led by Brother Michael O’Neill McGrath, OSFS.
The presentation and discussion will use stories and art to highlight saintly men from Scripture and church history, from the shepherd David to Pope Francis. The retreat format uses presentations, break-out discussion and work at the Joseph House homeless shelter in Camden for reflection on Christian masculinity.
Brother McGrath is a nationally recognized author, artist and retreat director who resides in Sacred Heart’s neighborhood of Camden.
The retreat will begin in the Sacred Heart Church basement at 1739 Ferry Ave. (Broadway and Ferry avenues), entrance off of Jasper Street. For more information or to register, contact Steve McGeady at sjm158@comcast.net. A donation of $20 is suggested to cover lunch and materials.
