Lisa Kiernan has been named executive director of Heart of Camden, Inc., the non-profit housing community development corporation dedicated to revitalizing the Waterfront South neighborhood of Camden.
The announcement was made by the organization’s board of directors. Kiernan will take over on Jan. 13. She replaces Meyer Pincelli, who has been serving as interim director.
Kiernan, of Jacksonville, Fla., holds a master’s degree in community economic development with a specialization in affordable housing from Southern New Hampshire University. She also has completed the Senior Executive Leadership Program at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government.
She has experience in housing, economic and community development, commercial and residential real estate lending, asset management and community outreach and communications. She has worked with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) in Jacksonville; the Community Development Financial Institution (CDF) in Columbia, Md.; the Economic Development Commission in Williamstown; the Greater Germantown Housing Development (GGHDC) in Philadelphia; and the Tri County Community Action Agency, Inc. (TCCAA) in Bridgeton.
