Lourdes Health System president and CEO, Alexander J. Hatala, thanks the many donors in attendance at the Our Lady of Lourdes Statue Donor Event. On Wednesday, March 14, a reception was held in honor of the 1,180 donors who donated more than $64,000 toward the repairs of the beloved Our Lady of Lourdes statue. The reception was held at the restoration site in Swedesboro and gave donors a sneak peek of the statue before she goes back atop the Camden medical center on April 3. The statue was damaged during August’s earthquake and taken down for extensive repairs in November 2011. In addition to structural improvements made to ensure her longevity, the Our Lady of Lourdes statue now shines brighter than before with her new illuminated halo made of energy efficient LED lights.
