Some students of John Paul II Regional School, Stratford, were surprised to hear they were being called to the principal’s office recently.
Were they in trouble? Not these three.
Danielle Turchi, kindergarten, Vincent Esher, fifth grade, and John Esher, sixth grade received a surprise visit from their Uncle Andrew who just returned from duty after serving 366 days in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Kuwait as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army.
Principal Helen Persing had the children called down to the office, knowing they had no idea they would be greeted with a big hug from their uncle.
Sgt. Andrew Freeto has now completed his deployment and will shortly resume his civilian work for the Atlantic County Sheriff’s Office.
