Christ the King Regional School is pleased to announce scholarship awards from the Ethel Mae Hocker Foundation for 2011-12 academic year. Richard Hocker and Jerry McBride presented scholarships to Kieran Conley, fifth grade; Elizabeth Heath, seventh; Karlie Deeck, sixth; and Jared Latane, seventh. Richard Hocker and his wife founded the Ethel Mae Hocker Foundation to inspire scholarship opportunities for a broad range of talented students who would benefit from the whole person education at leading schools, such as Christ the King School.
Libby Vino, a teacher at All Saints Episcopal Day School in Hoboken, has been named New Jersey’s Nonpublic School Teacher of the Year for 2011 in the annual competition sponsored by the New Jersey Council for American Private Education (NJ CAPE). The award will be presented by Andy Smarick, Deputy Commissioner of Education, on Oct. 11 at a ceremony at the New Jersey Department of Education in Trenton.
