The progress of the Catholic Strong Campaign continues! More than $23 million has been collected of the $40.6 million raised. Last month, another disbursement of funds restricted to the campaign was transferred back to each parish per the chart you see here.
All gifts and payments posted by Nov. 30, 2020 are part of the distribution which now totals more than $15.4 million over the life of the campaign thus far. This includes another $2.2 million that was distributed among the individual parish accounts in December, so they may continue their local efforts in fulfilling those vital case components. Capital needs and ministerial needs are being met, and are making our church stronger.
As communicated in the past, these funds are restricted for use with the Catholic Strong projects designated by the diocese and each individual parish. They cannot be used for any other purpose. The report here is provided to celebrate the donors of many sacrificial gifts, and to present with transparency that every dollar is being distributed as promised.
All parishioners were provided the opportunity to pledge over a five-year period. Since the last block of parishes began their campaigns in 2019, the redemption process will extend out as far as 2024.
Over the next week or so, reports will go out from the Development Office of the Diocese of Camden to every donor, either via U.S. Mail or by email.
“We want to be sure that we remind every supporter that their gifts are being stewarded in the manner with which they were presented, and to let them know that the redemption process continues as pledges of up to five years are carefully paid to fulfillment,” says Mariann Gilbride, Director of Development for the Diocese.
“We gratefully celebrate the sacrifices that people are making to build up their parishes. What a tremendous commitment they have made, and so have much to be proud of as they continue the monthly, quarterly, semi-annual or annual payments. God has blessed them, and they have chosen to share those blessings in this special way. For this, the diocese and the parishes are grateful.”
For those who are receiving paper copies of the report, but wish to switch to an electronic version, contacting the diocese via email can expedite this update. Email your request to: CatholicStrong@camdendiocese.org and ask to have your email address updated on your record.
