Sister Marina O’Donnell, 90, a Sister of Mercy who ministered in the Diocese of Camden, died Dec. 18 at McAuley Hall Health Care Center in Watchung, N.J.
Entering the Sisters of Mercy in 1945, Sister Marina spent most of her professional life as an elementary school teacher. However, in her later years, she ministered to those who were poor and suffering.
In the Camden Diocese, she taught at Immaculate Conception School, Camden and St. John School, Paulsboro. She was also administrator of Mercy by the Sea in Ventnor, and served as a volunteer at Holy Spirit Convent in Absecon.
She also ministered in the dioceses of Metuchen and Trenton.
Sister Marina is survived by her niece Kay Inglesby, and Kay’s husband Tom; and many loving nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at McAuley Hall Health Care Center on Dec. 21, and burial was at Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield.
