Christmas ornaments that were created by special needs students from Archbishop Damiano School at St. John of God Community Services have been selected for a Christmas tree display at Longwood Gardens.
Every Christmas season, Longwood Gardens displays small Christmas trees decorated with creative ornaments made by local students. Archbishop Damiano School was one of 13 area schools—and the only school for students with significant disabilities—to be selected to make ornaments for this year’s Christmas Holiday Display.
Special needs students in the horticulture classes and the school’s 4-H club planted, picked, pressed and laminated flowers grown in the school’s garden to create floral ornaments.
St. John of God Community Services is a non-profit, non-sectarian organization serving individuals with disabilities from birth through adulthood.
