At this time each year, Christians around the world are celebrating the presence of the living, Risen, Lord. For centuries, Christians have proclaimed that Jesus is risen.
Celebrating Easter is essential to our faith. It proclaims and announces that Jesus is risen. It proclaims that Jesus is with us along the journey of life.
Celebrating Easter proclaims that Jesus is with us, always. This realization provides us with security, peace, joy. In these moments of awareness, we can offer a prayer of thanksgiving. The Risen Lord is with us always.
Celebrating Easter reminds us that Jesus is with us when we are awake and when we are asleep. Jesus is with us when we start a new job and when we end an old job. Jesus is with us when we laugh and when we cry. The Risen Lord is with us always.
The Risen Lord is with us when we are ill and when we are healthy. The risen Lord is with us wherever we are. The Risen Lord is with us in whatever we do. He is with us in whatever we feel. The Risen Lord is with us always.
The Risen Lord is with us whether we are single or married. The Risen Lord is with us whether we are parents or not parents. The Risen Lord is with us when we enjoy our spouse and when we are working to forgive our spouse. The Risen Lord is with us in life’s enjoyment and in life’s discouragement. The Risen Lord is with us always.
Truly, because of the Risen Lord, the answer to life’s questions lies within each person. Because of the Risen Lord, we do not have to rely on sources outside ourselves for peace and self-confidence. We do not have to rely on people or work or events in order to find joy, peace, love and self-esteem.
The greatest of all feasts forces us to believe that the Living Lord abides within us and will continue to abide within us. This belief gives meaning and purpose to this earthly journey we travel. The Risen Lord is with us always.
