In the days leading up to the feast of Saint Pio of Pietrelcina, Bishop Joseph Williams celebrated Mass at Our Lady of Pompeii Church, joining the community for the annual festival that honors the saint for whom their Vineland parish is named.

For more than two decades, Saint Padre Pio Parish’s faithful have come together on or near the beloved saint’s feast day, which is Sept. 23. In addition to Mass, confessions, prayers and a procession with a statue of Padre Pio, those of all ages enjoyed food, games and camaraderie at the festival Sept. 20 with the Bishop and clergy, including Father Joseph Ganiel, pastor.
