“If Christ has not been raised from the dead, useless is our faith,” Bishop Joseph A. Williams expressed to the students, faculty and administration of Gloucester Catholic High School during the Mass of the Holy Spirit on Sept. 18 in which he reflected on the day’s reading from Paul’s letter to Corinthians. “But He has been raised, and that makes all the difference.”

At the conclusion of Mass, which was celebrated at Saint Mary’s Church, Gloucester City, members of the student council presented Bishop Williams with a gift: Gloucester Catholic gear celebrating the beginning of the school year. He then enjoyed some light refreshments and conversation with students and faculty. Among them: Dr. William Watson, diocesan superintendent of Catholic schools; school president Dr. Glenn Benjamin; and Tom Iacovone Jr., school principal. Concelebrating the Mass was Father George Seiter, pastor, and Father Peter Gallagher, parochial vicar and director of Catholic Identity for the school. Deacon Kevin Heil assisted.
