Fourth- and fifth-grade students from Saint Margaret Regional School and the religious education program at the adjacent Infant Jesus Parish in Woodbury Heights hosted their annual “Saints Come Alive” program the weekend of Nov. 8-9. The students dressed as the Church’s saints, sharing the stories of these holy men and women with friends, family, teachers and community members. Taking a first-person narrative, the students described their saint’s birth, life, miracles, death and eventual canonization. Among the saints portrayed were Saint John Paul II (1920-2005), above, who canonized 482 saints during his papacy; and, below, Saint Laura Montoya (1874-1949), the first Colombian to be made a saint; and Saint Carlo Acutis (1991-2006), the 15-year-old who was canonized in September.
