Bishop Joseph Williams visited with the Little Servant Sisters of the Immaculate Conception from Cherry Hill and Woodbridge last month, celebrating Mass and joining the sisters for lunch. During the afternoon, the sisters presented Bishop with a candle with a special dedication of the Light of Christ. As their founder, Blessed Edmund, said, “Every good person is like a candle that burns to shine for others.”
The year 2025 was the 175th anniversary of the congregation’s founding by Blessed Edmund Bojanowski in Poland. Among those to present the candle were Sister Monika Aleksandrowicz, vicar provincial, left, and Mother Elzbieta Lopatka, superior provincial. In addition, two concelebrants joined Bishop for Mass at the sisters’ Provincialate Chapel in Cherry Hill: Father Zbigniew Majcher, SDB, chaplain of the Provincialate, and Father Pawel Dziatkiewicz, SDB, chaplain of St. Joseph’s Senior Home in Woodbridge.
