
Sister M. Aurelia, 85, a religious of the Little Servant Sisters of the Immaculate Conception for 66 years, died on Feb. 8 at Saint Joseph Nursing Center, Woodbridge. She had been a member of the community at the Provincialate, Cherry Hill, since 2013.
Baptized Halina, she entered the congregation in 1955, and professed her perpetual vows in 1962. She was a trained religious educator in Poland.
Sister M. Aurelia was a teacher, superior and principal at Saint Matthew Regional School in Verga (National Park), and previously at Our Lady of Lourdes School in Milltown, and Saint Hedwig School in Elizabeth,
“Sister Aurelia was committed to prayer and to her community. Open to people, her ministry in Poland was in the time of communism. In her new world of New Jersey, she endeared herself to her students and had the gift of hospitality. She loved helping the poor and gardening.” her religious community recalled.
On Feb. 13, a Mass of Christian Burial was held at the Provincialate Chapel in Cherry Hill with interment at Saint Joseph’s Cemetery in Chews Landing.
