Father Gregorio and others often imply that those who disagree with them on global warming are uninformed or stupid or both. Almost everyone agrees that the world has been getting warmer for over 15,000 years. The real difference is that Father Gregorio and a consensus of scientists’ believe that mankind is a major cause of that. Others believe that it is caused by the changing of the position of the earth with regard to the sun which is slowly but constantly changing.
A consensus is not scientific as shown by previous examples. Scientists agreed that the sun rotated the earth, that the universe is forever fixed in space, that the best relief for fever is to open the patient’s vein, that we are headed into another Ice Age, and hundreds more honest but incorrect assumptions. We really don’t know if it will rain next week.
