Father Gregorio’s column “The very real threat of global warming” (July 13) is the most irresponsible and inaccurate missive I have ever read. The most blatant inaccuracy is the fallacious statement by the academic Lonnie Thompson that “virtually” (progressive lefties love that word, I guess to deceptively justify a statement in their virtual world) all climatologists are in unison in declaring that we are in imminent danger from anthropogenic global warming.
I would like to suggest that Star Herald readers read meteorologist Brian Sussman’s book “Eco-Tyranny, How the Left’s Green Agenda Will Dismantle America” in which he reveals the Marxist agenda behind “global warming” and “climate change.” Mr. Sussman is a real scientist. He points out, for example, that James Hansen of NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies is “notorious for his reckless inciting suggestions,”
Here are some facts that this expert points out—“Since 1850 there has been an increase in temperature of 1.14 degrees (.70 degrees Celsius) and 88 percent of the warming occurred before 1940. These are facts that are indisputable. And it’s also a known fact that since 1998 there has been no additional warming. Period”.
Of course, who can argue with Father Gregorio’s statement that “…safeguards cost money, but life and health preempt the bottom line”? Here’s an inconvenient fact: History shows how the quality of life and health was decimated for poor Russian families in the early 1900s when the first environmental extremist, Vladimir Lenin, elevated nature over the people he ruled.
Let’s recycle and not pollute and calm down.
