Much-needed sound equipment. Reading materials. Stools for the science lab. Clergy development.

These are among the projects that will be supported across the Diocese of Camden thanks to this year’s #iGiveCatholic campaign. Raising $110,233, 641 donors stepped up to “Give Back and Give Catholic” to schools, parishes and ministries in South Jersey. #iGiveCatholic is the U.S. Catholic Church’s national day of giving that coincides with the global day of generosity known as Giving Tuesday. This year, Giving Tuesday was Dec. 3, though advanced giving for #iGiveCatholic started Nov. 18.

In 2023, $68,812 was raised through the Diocese’s campaign.

“It was so exciting to watch the donations rise throughout the day on Giving Tuesday. We’re thrilled that $40,000 above last year was raised,” said Stacy Napolitano, director of the Diocese’s Office of Development.

“This is all due to the hard work of the parishes, schools and ministries communicating about their important programs and projects. The generosity of the donors to support these financial needs was so heartwarming. We’re so grateful to them,” she continued.

Among the success stories: the Diocese’s Clergy Leadership Development Program, raising $2,800 from 11 donors; Saint Mary School, Williamstown, raising $825 from 12 donors, for new stools for the science lab; Christ the King Regional School, Haddonfield, raising $4,938, from 18 donors for a new Reading Series for students; and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, Galloway, raising $2,200 from four donors for new sound equipment.

In addition, Saint Rose of Lima Parish, Haddon Heights, will use its $3,640 from 47 donors to restock its food pantry and upgrade the facility. Those at Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish, Cape May, will expand their community outreach and faith formation program, and work on building repairs, with $10,250 from 68 donors.
