CHERRY HILL – Camden Catholic High School announced June 9 that Bishop Joseph Williams has appointed a new school president.
James I. Hozier, currently serving as principal of Father Judge High School in Philadelphia, will step into his new role effective July 1.
As principal of Father Judge, he spearheaded key initiatives, including enhanced staff development, a Freshmen Summer Readiness program, and targeted efforts to close post-pandemic learning gaps in mathematics. Further, the high school expanded its science labs, added an E-sports arena and podcast studio, and upgraded technology offerings during Hozier’s tenure. He also played a pivotal role in growing the school’s fundraising capabilities.
Hozier is a graduate of Delaware Valley College (B.S., Biology, 2012), and holds advanced degrees from Rutgers University-Camden (M.S., Molecular Biology, 2014) and Gwynedd Mercy University (M.S. Educational Leadership and Administration with Principal Certification, 2020).
“I am confident that Mr. Hozier’s proven skills, visionary leadership and deep commitment to student success will serve as catalysts for continued growth at Camden Catholic,” Jack Wixted, who serves on the Camden Catholic board of trustees, said in a statement. “Together, we look forward to a future full of promise, innovation and strengthened community spirit.”
Camden Catholic’s former president, Rory Sweeney, stepped down in February. Principal Heather Crisci has been serving as interim head of school.
“On behalf of the board, I would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Principal Heather Crisci for her outstanding leadership during this search process. Her dedication ensured a smooth transition and continued stability for our community,” Wixted said.
