Sheila McGirl, advertising sales representative at the Catholic Star Herald, has been named associate director of development for the House of Charity, Diocese of Camden.
As associate director of development, she will be responsible for the development and management of a comprehensive, strategic, integrated effort to build the Diocese of Camden’s base of annual donors, and coordinate a year-round project of education, cultivation and retention for volunteers, priests and annual donors to the House of Charity- Bishop’s Annual Appeal..
McGirl, who has worked for the Star Herald since 2007, will leave the paper on Feb. 21 and begin her new position on Feb. 24.
McGirl has a background in business management. In the diocese, she has worked as administrative assistant for the Office of Youth, Young Adult, and Campus Ministries (2005-07), and administrative assistant for the Family Life/Respect Life Ministry (2007).
“We look forward to the energy, enthusiasm and organizational skills that Sheila will bring to the office and to the House of Charity,” said Jim Lanahan, director of Development.
