Faithful who volunteer with the Saint Gianna Beretta Molla Parish’s weekly Bingo gatherings shared their baking skills and spirit of giving last month to help a fellow Atlantic County parish. Over a two-day span, the Northfield parish’s Bingo Volunteers Bake Sale raised $3,200 for the Parish of Saint Monica in Atlantic City. Eight out of the 22 volunteers have connections from years gone by to the churches that comprise the parish – Saint Nicholas of Tolentine, Our Lady Star of the Sea and Saint Michael. In addition to fond memories there, the volunteers wanted to contribute after hearing that the rectory was recently broken into and the parish was in need of security upgrades. “We didn’t think twice to try to help them,” said Nancy Norton, who runs the Saturday and Wednesday morning parish Bingo gatherings.
