Matthew Krug, a parishioner of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish Shrine, Lindenwold, was called to the Holy Order of the permanent diaconate on Sept. 28 at the Bishop’s residence in Woodbury. In the residence’s chapel, Krug made (and signed) his Profession of Faith, Oath of Fidelity, Declaration of Freedom and Oath to Service. In early September, Bishop Joseph Williams called 14 men to Holy Orders to the permanent diaconate. At that time, Krug was not among them, as both he and Bishop Williams were awaiting permission from the Holy See for Krug to be ordained according to the Latin-rite and to minister as a deacon in the Latin-rite Catholic Church. Krug is Ukrainian Catholic. Fifteen men will be ordained to the permanent diaconate for the Diocese of Camden on Oct. 4. Bishop Williams will celebrate the Mass beginning at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Agnes Church, Our Lady of Hope Parish, Blackwood.
