Deacon Frank Guaracini, Jr., 65, of Vineland died peacefully at his home on March 30, 2021.

He most recently served at Saint Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish in Hammonton. He was known for his personal traits — his generousity, kindness and optimism — as well as the impact he made as a community leader.

“Frank, Jr.” was born in Vineland on April 5, 1955 to Frank, Sr., and Josephine (Tuso) Guaracini. He graduated from Sacred Heart High School and was a student at Glassboro State College. In 1977, he married Elizabeth Vastano, who was his wife for almost 44 years.

Deacon Guaracini was an entrepreneur and commercial real estate developer. He operated three Vineland supermarkets in Vineland, including two ShopRite supermarkets. He was also president of Frank’s Realty Company and developed the Vineland Regional Transportation Center, which together lease spaces to 30 commercial tenants.

Deacon Guaracini was a community leader and he devoted countless hours to educational, spiritual and charitable causes. He was a major benefactor to the Frank Guaracini, Jr., Fine and Performing Arts Center at Cumberland County College. He was also the recipient of the Gregor Mendel Award from Saint Augustine Preparatory School in Richland.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Vastano); three children, Frank Guaracini, III (and wife Amanda), Constance Elizabeth, and Victoria Allison; sister Joan Marandino (and husband Joseph) and brother Joseph “Butchie” Guaracini; grandchild Charlotte Guaracini; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was expecting the arrival of a grandson in April.

Deacon Guaracini was predeceased by his parents, Frank, Sr., and Josephine (Tuso) Guaracini, and sister Maryann.

Funeral and burial services were private. Donations to benefit the future of his children and grandchildren may be sent to Elizabeth Guaracini c/o Frank’s Realty Company, 3600 E. Landis Ave., Unit 10, Vineland, NJ 08361.
