The Diocese’s Office of Family and Youth is bringing South Jersey’s faithful together for an evening of fun and Philly basketball.
Individuals, families and groups are encouraged to come together as the Philadelphia 76ers take on the Chicago Bulls at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 6 at the Wells Fargo Center, 3601 S. Broad St., Philadelphia.
“This is the Church reaching out to our families where they are at. We know that our families come together to watch sports. We know the drive and passion they have for the Philly sports teams,” said José Rodriguez, director of the diocesan Office of Family and Youth.
“It’s also a form of evangelization,” he said. “The people who will end up sitting next to our sections will see the Catholic Church of South Jersey having fun. There is a misconception that the Catholic Church doesn’t do fun things. We do!”
