Bishop Joseph Galante announced the retirement of Father Anthony Patrizio, 72, effective Nov. 1.
A priest who has served in the Diocese of Camden for more than
46 years, Father Patrizio was born on April 4, 1940 in Afragola, Naples.
Studying at the University of the Propagation of the Faith in Rome, and St. John Vianney Seminary in East Aurora, N.Y., he was ordained a priest on May 21, 1966, at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Camden, by Archbishop Celestine J. Damiano.
His education also included a Master’s in Religious Education from LaSalle College (now University), and a Master’s in Education, specializing in Guidance Counseling, from Villanova University.
Father Patrizio served as Parochial Vicar at Holy Name Parish, Camden, and for more than 35 years, ministered to the community at
Villa Pieta in Linwood. Most recently, he was parochial vicar at St. Vincent de Paul Parish in Mays Landing.
Other assignments included Chaplain, and later Superior, at Our Lady’s Residence, Pleasantville.
