
Bishop Dennis J. Sullivan has announced the appointment of Father William J. Kelly from parochial vicar, St. Damien, Ocean City, to pastor, Mary, Mother of Mercy Parish, Glassboro, for a six-year term, effective Dec. 1.
Father Kelly, 58, has been parochial vicar at St. Damien since 2012
Born in Conshohocken, Pa., he studied at Catholic Theological Union in Chicago before being ordained a Norbertine of Daylesford Abbey, Pa. on Sept. 17, 2005.
He began serving in the Diocese of Camden in 2009, when he was appointed parochial vicar at Immaculate Conception in Bridgeton. A year later, he was named parochial vicar at the Parish of the Holy Cross in Bridgeton, which merged Immaculate Conception with St. Teresa of Avila, Bridgeton; St. Michael, Cedarville; St. Anthony, Port Norris; and St. Mary, Rosenhayn.
In 2012, he was transferred to St. Damien, and in 2013 was incardinated into the Diocese of Camden.
