Masses of welcome and inclusion for individuals and families of children with special needs are celebrated at several parishes in the Diocese of Camden.
“We invite you to actively participate in the celebration of the Eucharist by sharing your skills as a greeter, a lector, a cantor, an usher, an altar server and by your presence,” said Sister Bonnie McMenamin, a Sister of St. Joseph and co-director of MinistryWith the Deaf and Persons with Disabilies, Diocese of Camden.
“The Mass will be adapted to meet the needs of the folks joining us,” she added. “All are welcome.”
The parishes and schedules are as follows:
– First Saturday of the Month, 4:30 p.m. Mass, Christ Our Light, 402 N. Kings Highway, Cherry Hill. Mainstream Mass, all year.
– Second Sunday of the Month, 1 p.m. Mass, Holy Eucharist Parish, 344 Kresson Road, Cherry Hill. Separate Mass, September to June.
– Third Saturday of the Month, 4:30 p.m. Mass, Church of the Holy Family, 226 Hurffville Road, Sewell. Mainstream Mass, all year.
– Fourth Sunday of the Month, 12:15 Mass, St. Joachim Parish, 601 Browning Road, Bellmawr. Separate Mass, all year.
– Every Sunday, 10 a.m. Mass, Holy Saviour, Blessed Teresa of Calcutta, 50 Emerald Ave., Westmont. This Mass is a Mass signed in American Sign Language for members of the Deaf Community, and voiced for hearing members of the Church.
