Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in Absecon is hosting a Lenten retreat through song on Palm Sunday.
Suite Inspiration, based at the parish, will lead “The Passion, Death and Glory of Jesus Christ Through Scripture and Song,” at the church at 3 p.m. on April 13. The hourlong experience is a musical story, a journey like Lent itself, and an opportunity to reflect on what that journey is all about, organizers say.
“We’ve presented this devotional experience for 26 years in our home parish, and at benefit events at other churches as well,” said Judy Transue, Suite Inspiration’s producer and the parish music ministry director. “It is an hour of beautiful and meaningful music with an incredibly powerful message. It gives anyone listening a rare opportunity for deep contemplation on the amazing events of Holy Week.”
She noted that the group’s musicians have performed Christmas concerts for more than three decades. “We really enjoy performing Christmas music, but we feel that people seldom get to hear the wealth of music that tells the story of the rest of Christ’s time on earth.”
