Honorary Birthday Gala Chairman, Judge Phillip Gruccio along with founders of Sacred Heart High School, Vineland, the Sisters of St. Joseph, will celebrate the school’s 85th birthday on Saturday, June 16. There will be a 6:15 p.m. reception and cash bar, followed by dinner and presentation of the Jean Paul Médaille Awards. (Jean Paul Médaille was the Jesuit priest who founded the Sisters of St. Joseph in France in 1646). Recipients of this award are Victor LaTorre, Auxiliary Bishop James L. Schad (posthumously), Msgr. Joseph G. Stoerlein, and Josephine Jordan Walker. The celebration, being held at The Greenview Inn at Eastlyn Golf Course in Vineland, will conclude with dessert and dancing until 11 p.m. Tickets $75/person and black tie optional. Alumni, friends and staff members of Gloucester Catholic Junior/Senior High School gathered Monday evening, April 30, for an “Evening of Celebrating Our Past, Present, and Future” at Auletto’s Ballroom in Almonesson. Approximately 150 attended the celebration, which featured Dr. Patrick Harker ’77, president of the University of Delaware, as the keynote speaker. Also speaking were Alumni President Tom Iacovone ’70, GCHS National Honor Society President Tim Collins 2012, GC Principal John Colman, and GCHS Alumni Patrick Peyton ’77. Alumni from the 1940s through the 2000s attended the reception.
Andrew Ruggieri, Gloucester Catholic ’08, a student at The University of the Arts, will perform a 30-minute concert in the New Voices Cabaret series on Tuesday, May 22, at the Society Hill Playhouse in Philadelphia. Ruggieri’s performance is part of a program where upcoming artists sing before producers and directors from the surrounding area and New York who are scouting new talent. Tickets are $15 each with the performances running from 7:30 to 9 p.m.
