The Crusaders (23-5 record) were attempting to upset top-seeded Rutgers Prep (25-2) in the sectional championship at Lakewood High School.

Paul VI earned a spot in the Non-Public A championship by defeating Red Bank Catholic, 46-27 on March 7. Hannah Hidalgo scored 22 points, and Sara McShea added 17 for the Eagles, who raised their record to 24-3. Paul VI was to take on nationally ranked Saint John Vianney (28-1) in the sectional championship game at Lakewood High School.

Wildwood Catholic Academy goes for a basket against Gloucester Catholic March 3 in Gloucester City.

In boys action, Holy Spirit’s season came to an end March 7 as the Spartans fell to Trenton Catholic Preparatory Academy, 54-35, in the Non-Public South B semifinal. Jamil Wilkins scored a dozen points for Holy Spirit, which finished with a 16-9 record.
