Father Robert Hughes, Vicar General and Moderator of the Curia for the Diocese of Camden, and parishioners from South Jersey and beyond spent the beginning of fall in some of the world’s most saintly places. From Sept. 27 to Oct. 5, Father Hughes led a pilgrimage across Portugal, Spain and France. Highlights included: the Church of Saint Anthony in Lisbon, which was built upon the site of Saint Anthony of Padua’s birth; prayer and a candlelight procession at Fatima, where Our Lady appeared to the three shepherd children Lucia, Jacinta and Francisco; the grand Plaza Mayor square in Salamanca, Spain; Mass and the miraculous waters at the Grotto in Lourdes, where Our Lady appeared to Saint Bernadette and announced herself as “The Immaculate Conception”; Lisieux and the Basilica of Saint Therese, as well as the Carmelite Convent where the “Little Flower” is entombed with her parents, Louis and Zelie Martin, who are also saints. The pilgrimage also included Normandy Beach, Chartres and Paris. For information on upcoming trips, visit 206tours.com/cms/frhughes.
