Since 2009 the Diocese of Camden has had a partnership with The University of Dayton’s online adult faith formation program, The Virtual Learning Community for Faith Formation (VLCFF).
The VLCFF is a collaborative adult faith e-learning resource for catechists, Catholic school teachers, and adult faith and lay leaders. With over 125 e-courses with 600-plus sections, in seven cycles per year, e-learners may select from a variety of e-faith learning experiences. E-courses (five weeks) and E-seminars (three weeks) can be participated in as single courses, special interest tracks, or certificate programs.
Each e-course is limited to 15 e-learners from e-learners from all over the world.
Each e-course is mentored by a facilitator who is approved by their diocese and trained by the the VLCFF Team. “This personal encounter ensures a sense of e-faith community versus a simple correspondence course,” according to promotional literature from The University of Dayton.
Select e-courses are available in Spanish. Spanish faith e-courses have been designed by Hispanic Catholic educators and diocesan leaders. The Hispanic VLCFF coordinator is available to assist for introducing these e-courses into the Hispanic ministry of the diocese.
“The Diocese of Camden’s VLCFF Partnership allows for e-courses to be reserved for select groups within a parish/diocese. Over 20 models for adapting the VLCFF to complement existing diocesan ministry programs have been designed by the 60-plus VLCFF Diocesan Partners. These models can be adapted as required for specific diocesan needs,” according to the school.
