Faithful across the Diocese of Camden are urged to contribute to the World Mission Sunday collection Oct. 21-22.
World Mission Sunday, overseen by the Society for the Propagation of the Faith, is the worldwide Eucharistic celebration for the Missions and missionaries of the world. This collection, always taken on the next to last Sunday during October, is a global effort for the entire Church to provide for the building up of local churches in Asia and Africa, the Pacific Islands, and parts of Latin America and Europe. Through the work of these churches, and their witness to Christ, the poor receive practical help and experience God’s love and mercy, His hope and peace.
Last year, the Diocese of Camden collected 76,860 for World Mission Sunday.
World Mission Sunday rejoices in humanity’s unity as missionaries by Baptism, as it offers everyone an opportunity to support the life-giving presence of the Church among the poor and marginalized in more than 1,111 mission dioceses.
