Salerno Society Hall of Fame

Our Lady of Mercy Academy recently honored its 2015 Salerno Society’s inductees at the Greenview Inn in Vineland.

The Salerno Society Hall of Fame Dinner, founded in 2012, honors “those individuals who have had a profound and everlasting effect on the school as athletes, scholars, teachers, coaches, administrators and benefactors,” said Jerry Covella, chairman of the annual event. This year’s inductees are Christopher Romano and family. Romano and his wife Barbara have been tireless supporters of OLMA and their daughters are graduates of the Academy.

Jena Peacock, a 2008 graduate is the greatest long-distance runner in the history of the school. Jena is now pursuing her Masters of Arts degree. Alumnae Rosemary “Rockie” Angelo was also inducted. Rockie, a 1968 graduate of OLMA continues to contribute her time and resources in many different ways to her alma mater. Kathryn “Kay” Tanner served 16 years as the school secretary and has continued to support the school since her retirement in 2005.
