
On Oct. 15, the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Our Lady of Mercy #1655 of Sea Isle City, celebrated their 70th anniversary with a Mass at Saint Joseph Church.
Guests for the special occasion included State Regent Theresa Dieterich, and Sea Isle City Mayor Leonard Desiderio, who presented a proclamation designating October as Catholic Daughters of the Americas Month in the town. As well, he read a proclamation from U.S. Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R-2nd District).

Father Perry Cherubini, pastor of Saint Joseph Parish in Sea Isle City, celebrated the morning liturgy, assisted by Deacon Joseph Murphy.
Formed in 1903, the Catholic Daughters of the Americas is one of the oldest and largest organizations of Catholic women in the Americas, with 63,000 dues-paying members in 1,150 courts (local chapters) in 45 states across the country and in Puerto Rico, Mexico, Guam and the Virgin Islands.
Under the patronage of our Blessed Mother, the organization is united in faith and devotion to the Church, through ways such as feeding the hungry; caring for the those with special needs; and supporting priests, seminarians and religious.
