
Sister Marie Patricia Cella, SSJ, a former teacher at Wildwood Catholic High School, died Nov. 22. She was 90.
Entering the Sisters of Saint Joseph in September 1953, she made her first vows Aug. 14, 1956, and final vows Aug. 14, 1961.
For the next 55 years, Sister Marie Patricia dedicated herself in ministry to schools, parishes and social services in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Florida, Maryland and North Carolina. In the Diocese of Camden, she taught at Wildwood Catholic High School from 1976 to 1985.
In 2016, she moved from active ministry to Saint Joseph Villa in Flourtown, Pa.
Sister Marie Patricia, formerly S. Marian Auxilia, is preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary (nee McKeone) Cella, and her brothers, Joseph, Matthew and John Cella.
She is survived by her brothers William and James, her sisters-in-law, many nephews and nieces and their extended families, and members of her congregation.
A visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Nov. 27 at Saint Joseph Villa in Flourtown. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m.
