Deacon Timothy Sullivan, who served in the Diocese of Camden for eight years, died on Aug. 1, after a long illness.
Deacon Sullivan was ordained a deacon for the Diocese of Camden on June 11, 2005. His initial parish assignment was St. Aloysius Parish in Oaklyn, and his diocesan assignment was in healthcare institutions. He subsequently served at Annunciation Parish and St. Joachim Parish, both in Bellmawr.
“Tim had a deep interest in spiritual development and was active in helping persons recovering from addictions,” remembered Deacon Leo McBlain, director, Office of the Diaconate.
“He was amiable and hopeful in all that he did despite his suffering in recent years.”
A native of Asbury Park, Deacon Sullivan received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from La Salle University in Philadelphia. He worked for an accounting firm and later established his own practice. He and his wife Anne lived in Runnemede.
A Mass of Christian Burial waas celebrated Aug. 7 at St. Teresa Church in Holy Child Parish. Interment was private.
