The following activities are being held in honor of Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.. Martin Luther King Day is celebrated on Monday, Jan. 16.
— Friday, Jan. 13, 8 p.m., M’kor Shalom Congregation, 850 Evesham Road, Cherry Hill: Interfaith service featuring the Unity Choir and Jim Peeler, Chair of the NJ Human Relations Council as guest speaker. Peeler is a Catholic member of the Catholic Jewish Commission and Jewish Catholic Muslim Dialogue.
— Deacon Bill Johnson will be the homilist at the Jan. 14 afternoon Mass and Jan. 15 at all Masses except 6 p.m., St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 176 Stage Coach Road, Sicklerville. The Diocesan Gospel Choir will sing at the Saturday afternoon Mass. Consult the church’s web page for Mass times.
— Jan. 16: Blood drives at St. Josephine Bakhita Church, Cam-
den (St. Bartholomew site at 751 Kaighns Ave.) and at St. Bridget Church, 202 Ellis Street, Glassboro, from 8 a.m.-2 p.m.
— Jan. 16, 7 p.m., Interfaith service sponsored by the Camden Churches Organized for People (CCOP) and hosted by St. Josephine Bakhita at the St. Joan of Arc site, 3107 Alabama Road, Camden. Father Rico Ducle will preside and will be honored in a reception following the service.
