The Diocese of Camden’s Pastoral Center welcomed an international shepherd this month, as Father Bart Paepen, episcopal vicar of the Diocese of Antwerp, Belgium stopped into Camden to visit diocesan staff. Accompanied by Msgr. Peter Joyce, pastor of Saint Charles Borromeo Parish, Sicklerville, and friend Anthony Hope, a parishioner of Saint Damien Parish, Ocean City, Father Paepen discussed fundraising strategies with Stacy Napolitano, director of Development, above, as well as evangelization and new media initiatives with Michael Walsh, director of Communications. Father Paepen’s visit was part of a weeklong trip to the United States (New York and New Jersey) to meet with fundraising and evangelization leaders and learn best practices. During his visit, Father Paepen – who is also rector of the Cathedral of Our Lady in Antwerp – checked out the recent issue of the Catholic Star Herald and was pleased to experience a local treat, the Philadelphia soft pretzel.
