It was with great delight I encountered the picture and article about our beloved former pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes, Msgr. William Buchler, in the March 9 issue. I would have revised your headline to read “He Loved the Priesthood, the Diocese, and the Parishioners!”
Msgr. Buchler was never too busy to chat with parishioners after Mass, identifying everyone by name, or to lend assistance offering advice and guidance on faith and morals. Requests for the sacrament of the sick were immediately answered and given. Current seminarians should be encouraged to emulate Monsignor’s devotion to his parishioners, church and his priestly vows.
He was a revered, dynamic “Father” of our parish.
