I was disturbed by Father Gregorio calling for a repeal of the Second Amendment, the right of citizens to bear arms.
There would be no Catholic Church or any other church were our citizens not allowed to bear firearms. Tyrants and political monsters stand ready to decimate our rights to believe as we do about our relationship with a kind and loving God. I would like to be able to fight them if necessary, even for you if you choose not to.
The Second Amendment is important. So thought our founding fathers who were educated, passionate men of principle and great foresight.
I am a 66 year old male with four years of Marine Corps combat experience and have seen many chaplains carry .45 colt automatic pistols. Our chaplains fought with the inspiration of our creator and with the protection of St. Michael.
I was a law enforcement officer for 34 years and carried a gun daily; never had to take a life, thank God, but stood ready to do so. You see, cops work for God also. We are the ones who make sure our churches and schools are protected.
If you take my guns away I will use every tool I can use to protect my family, neighbors and parishioners.
I am afraid that my friend Father Bob and I have to agree to disagree and thank God we have that right.
